This client called us hoping to achieve a more regal and elegant look in their home. Moving away from the pickled oak stairway and builder grade cabinets, Forwal created a space to match the beloved Steinway piano that sits to the left of the foyer.

The “bends” in this project were our favorite things. From the bending rail for the handrail in the upstairs open hallway to the bow-front doors on the custom bar area, the subtle details were the most enjoyable to put together. There are oftentimes surprises in neighborhood homes and this was no different. Dropping the dining room subfloor between the floor joists to install a level hardwood floor from the foyer to the kitchen shows that a little ingenuity goes a long way in bringing that vision to life. Let’s not forget the beautiful cherry trim applied around the newly installed quartz fireplace surround and across the coffered kitchen ceiling.
In many ways we went back to traditional roots in all of the right ways to make this dated 90’s home a timelessly designed home that can be enjoyed for years to come.
